Hello everyone,
We have set finally set a date for the launch of phpLens. It's 18th July
2001.
As the current license expires on the 1st of July, we have uploaded a new
version of phpLens with a license that expires on the 23rd of July, 2001
at http://phplens.com/product/
We are currently enhancing phpLens, and intend to develop phpLens further
to be the best web database tool ever. Purchasers of the phpLens 1.0 will
get early access to phpLens 1.1 beta's.
The feature set of 1.1 will include many performance improvements including:
1. Checkbox support for true/false.
2. Support for data entry of multiple checkboxes for one field. This
allows you to create forms like:
Select all news you would like to receive
[ ] politics
[ ] business
[ ] technology
[ ] sports
[ ] entertainment
And when the user selects the first 2 items and saves, this field will
contain:
"politics, business"
3. Cached recordsets for better performance
4. Optimistic locking to prevent multiple users from updating the same
record when you are using phpLens in a transaction processing environment.
5. Variable binding of SQL statements for higher performance for ODBC and
Oracle databases.
Bye for now,
Wai Hun and John
